I just watched, "The Creator". It's a visually stunning movie. About halfway through, I think I figured out why the Republic of New Asia was really vibing with the advanced AI technology but I won't spoil it for you. The Americans are the 'bad guys' in this flick, so those of you sensitive about how the States are portrayed you might want to stay away from this joint.

Consciousness and what it means to be human are paramount in this story. Think Bladerunner meets Ghost in the Shell. The Creator stars John David Washington; Denzel Washington's son. He looks nothing Like Denzel, but his voice sounds exactly like his dads. He's ex-special forces. His name's Joshua and he's in love with an AI ally named Maya. Maya is pivotal in this yarn. She is portrayed by the lovely Gemma Chan. Now for me, the two of them offered little chemistry but hay, a couple of beautiful people on screen never hurt anybody.

Unfortunately I see our society going down this route. With advanced AI programs popping up everywhere, it's only a matter of time before we start putting faces on them and making them apart of our daily routine. Feelings are gonna get hurt, jobs will be lost, a cybernetic foot is going to be inserted in someones ass … and scene.

The bigger the theater the more fun you're gonna have watching this tale. I wish we were treated to the Republic of New Africa, but until we start making our own movies there's no room to complain. I envision more stories springing from this universe. Just have to be careful not to rehash what's already been told. Matrix anyone?
